What to expect during laser hair removal
If you decide to have laser hair removal at Jon'Ric, you will need to take some steps to prepare in advance. For at least six weeks, you should limit or eliminate plucking, waxing and electrolysis to ensure that the roots of your hair are available for the laser to target. It's also important to stay out of the sun, as exposure can make your procedure less effective and increase your risk of certain complications.
When you arrive at our office for your appointment, we will begin by trimming your unwanted hair until it's just a few millimeters long. We will then adjust the laser to your skin color and the color, thickness and location of your hair. From there, we will smooth a cold gel over your skin to protect its surface and help the laser penetrate effectively. Once we have prepped and protected your skin, we will administer a powerful pulse of light to the treatment area to deactivate the follicles.
After your procedure, we will apply ice packs and anti-inflammatory lotion to ease any pain and discomfort. Your next treatment will be scheduled four to six weeks later, and you will need to continue touching-up your results until the hair stops growing.
