Our vampire facial in Austin, also known as platelet rich plasma therapy, involves injecting the face with concentrated plasma extracted from your own blood. The treatment is designed to shave years off your appearance and restore a youthful facial glow without surgery.
How platelet rich plasma therapy works
Your blood is composed of small cells that aid in the clotting process. When a clot forms in response to an injury, the platelets rush to the area to promote healing and attract stem cells that can regenerate the tissue and repair the damage.
PRP harnesses this natural process to promote healing from the inside out. By injecting the platelet rich plasma into problem areas, the body is “tricked” into believing there's been an injury. It responds by repairing any damage and producing healing collagen. The approach was first developed for use in orthopedic surgery to expedite recovery following an injury, and now it's used as a popular and highly effective cosmetic procedure that can create firmer, younger-looking skin.

What to expect during your appointment
To begin your vampire facial in Austin, we will thoroughly cleanse and prep the skin, carefully marking the target areas on your face that need to be enhanced. From there, we will draw a small amount of blood from your arm and spin it in a centrifuge for about ten minutes. This process will separate the platelet rich plasma from the rest of the blood's contents so that it can be used for the facial.
From there, we will apply a topical anesthetic or numbing cream to ensure your comfort. We will then inject the activated platelet rich plasma back into your face, encouraging your body to increase collagen production and generate new tissue, blood vessels and cells.
Should you consider a vampire facial?
Almost anyone can be a candidate for the vampire facial– with some exceptions. This treatment approach is not suitable for individuals with bone cancer, blood cancer or anemia. In addition, you cannot take prescription blood thinners or anti-inflammatory medications before or after the procedure, as use of these drugs can contribute to complications.
